Necropolis Spirits, hailing from Glasgow, was founded in 2022 with a clear mission: to create incredibly smooth and simple rum, yet with enough depth to keep people coming back for more.

Giving a nod to the city, the brand's namesake, The Necropolis, is Glasgow's Victorian City of the Dead. This vast and grand cemetery, full of ornate graves and sculptures, sits on a hill adjacent to Glasgow Cathedral. The 37-acre Necropolis is the final resting place for over 50,000 souls, including merchants, architects, and cultural leaders who helped shape the city.

The founders, Anton and Jason, embarked on the lengthy process of testing various distillations to find the perfect spirit through sheer trial and error. After numerous (and heavy!) nights of sampling and a few sore heads later, they settled on the current iteration of "Deid Merchant Spiced Rum."

Using Cairngorm mountain water, Royal Deeside honey, Scottish brambleberries, and a few other select ingredients, they delicately balanced the rum to find the fine line between sweet and spicy. Sitting at 40% ABV, it’s remarkably smooth - a quality that sets it apart from many other spiced rums.

Deid Merchant Spiced Rum can be found in numerous bars throughout Glasgow city centre, and the team is always seeking new opportunities to showcase their exceptional product.
