Meet the Producers | BrewDog Distilling Co. | 2024

From their distillery in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, BrewDog Distilling Company have been engineering and creating a plethora of unique spirits to bring to market. Their most unique offering of all, however, is the marriage of Scottish and Caribbean rums to bring you Duo Rum.

Duo Rum brings together Scotland’s expertise in distilling and the Caribbean’s flavours. Their Scottish rum is handcrafted in their Aberdeenshire distillery and their Caribbean rum is produced on the sun-soaked shores of Barbados. This union of craftsmanship represents a meeting of two worlds: from the palm-clad tropics with its rich heritage of rum production, to their Scottish homeland where distilling traditions run deep in the DNA of the people there.

The rum world is one dominated by nautical themes and pirate iconography. Duo takes inspiration from this world through its unique bottle shape, but the contemporary twist via bold, colourful design plays an almighty role in filling a space between heritage and modern.

Duo Spiced Rum is the flagship product. A sweet and smooth rum with notes pineapple, allspice and a hint of lime for a true taste of the tropics.

Also in the range is Duo White Rum, a newly released spirit that has already bagged a Gold award at the Spirits Business’ The Rum & Cachaça Masters 2023, hailed as “well balanced with a gentle sweetness”.

The third expression is Duo Spiced with Caramelised Pineapple – a secret weapon awash with tropical fruits and a rich sweetness that marries perfectly with ginger beer.

The BrewDog Distilling team will be bringing their brand new Sherry-Cask-aged rum; Ron Bodega; to the Scottish Rum Fest this year. A dark rum, made from pot distilled molasses, and aged in sherry casks for over four years, it’s a premium product that will sit above the Duo Portfolio.
