Meet the Producer: Rumburra | 2021

A lot has happened in the past twelve months since Rumburra Scotland Ltd were last involved with the team at The Scottish Rum Festival.

Rumburra proudly accepted two Prestigious Awards in 2020: Lux Life’s Service in Excellence Award and Lux Life’s Best New Rum 2020, testament to the endeavours and dedicated hard work by the Rumburra team, especially through the tough year experienced by so many.

Combining full time jobs whilst marketing, promoting and selling our golden, aged rum has been tough and to get recognition from Lux Life has made the hard work even more worth-while.

Rumburra Orach is a carefully selected 5-year-old and 3-year-old blend of pot and column distilled Rums, distilled and aged in The Caribbean, bottled in Scotland at 42.3% ABV using Scottish Water, combining the very best the Caribbean has to offer with the purest water Scotland has to offer.

Scent: The first aroma reveals that of fruit and honey. Light caramel carries a subtle scent of banana alongside sugar cane notes and fresh mango.

Character: Light and vibrant gold in colour, an exotic blend bringing character and a spicy depth. A delicious rum to sit with, a comforting blend that is perfect for any occasion.

Taste: A beautiful medium bodied rum with a bite, lingering tastes of peach and a peppery hint. Slight whisky notes elevate Rumburra, appealing to rum lovers as well as the discerning malt whisky drinker.

Continuing to build on our core customer base and expand the brand we enjoy a 5-star rating with Master of Malt and work closely with The Rum Company.

Rumburra’s back story has had some recognition with an approach from the ‘Pardon Captain Kidd’ campaign based out in the United States. Pioneered by American Scots they are actively pushing to secure a pardon for Captain William Kidd, the 16th Century Scottish privateer who was wrongly convicted and hung for Piracy.

The Rumburra story is now being promoted, both in the UK and the United States. We are delighted to partner the campaign in a bid to secure a legal and justified pardon for our Rum’s promotional Scottish hero.
