Meet the Producer: Banditti | 2021

Banditti Club Rum is a fantastic addition to Glasgow Distillery’s growing range of award-winning premium brands; deriving its name from a band of ardent spirits who would meet in Glasgow’s local public houses in the late 18th and early 19th century; singing, eating and playing music late into the night, often bolstered by their favourite libation of invigorating rum punch.

Whilst this band of wily rogues were seen as an occasional detriment to the town’s peace and serenity, they were by no means serious ne’er-do-wells. They are known to have committed no murders nor robberies, notwithstanding their own health and purses, but were characterised as exuberant ‘merry-men’ from which youthful fun, frolics and badinage were the order of the day. 

Bold, incredibly smooth and wonderfully exotic, Banditti Club Rum is made using rum distilled from freshly pressed sugar cane juice on the Island of Madeira. Aged for up to 12 months in the finest virgin oak casks, the rum is then spiced with a selection of fresh tropical fruit and exotic spices, including pineapple, orange, cacao and allspice. 

With no added sugar or colourings, this is a spirit of exceptional quality, balance and distinction.

Natural sweetness and warm spice on the nose, Banditti opens up to toasted pineapple and orange on the palate with notes of clove and anise that lead to a long spicy finish.
