Introducing: Jamie MacDonald

Jamie MacDonald is a Bartender and Creative Consultant currently living and working in Scotland. His areas of focus as a consultant are drinks design, flavour innovation, brand development / education, whiskies and of course rum.

In his career Jamie has worked for employees and clients like Campari Group, Crucible London, Montpeliers Group, Absolut ELYX, Beam Suntory, Bacardi Martini and for over a decade, the revered Appleton Estate, Jamaica. During his time with Appleton Estate Jamie was privileged to work and assist author Ian Williams, Rum: A Social and Sociable History, on the history and heritage of the Appleton Estate. An absolute highlight and incredible learning opportunity for himself.

Besides working with clients and developing his own projects, Jamie has travelled extensively, sharing his love of rums and whiskies, gaining new inspiration and hopefully inspiring others. During lockdown Jamie gave his time and expertise to help develop and execute the online platform Hospolive, with great success. From this he achieved a ‘Top Ten Industry Global Resource’ and was nominated for ‘Heroes of Hospitality’.

When Jamie isn’t messing around with flavours, tasting rums or writing training programs, he loves spending time with his partner and family, taking long walks around Scotland. Or, you can and find him in the garden or on a badminton court.
